The Texas Rangers were also interested in Lucroy, but were unable to put a deal together. That leaves Cleveland as the most likely destination for Lucroy, who would have to waive a limited no-trade clausethat allows him to block a trade to eight teams, including the Indians.The Rangers could still try to put deals in place for Minnesota catcher Kurt Suzuki or San Diego backstop Derek Norris.Player of the dayWade Miley, Mariners: Miley flirted with a no-hitter against the Cubs before Chicago’s Kris Bryant broke up the no-hit bid in the seventh inning. It was Christian Yelich Jersey the only hit Miley allowed in seven innings while striking out nine and being charged with one earned run in Seattle’s 4-1 victory at Wrigley Field. The Baltimore Orioles could make a push Sunday to acquire Miley.HighlightTwins center fielderByron Buxton had the ultimate hustle play Saturday by stealing second and going to third as the throw fromWhite Sox catcherDioner Navarro went into centerfield. Buxton didn’t stop running, turning the corner and leaping over an attempted Navarro tag to score the game’s first run in the bottom of the third inning. The White Sox blew a 4-1 lead, but rallied for 6-5 victory in 10 innings. Three things to knowThe MLB trade deadline is Sunday and the Atlanta Braves made a splash Saturday night by acquiring outfielder Matt Kemp from the Padres. In exchange for Kemp and cash considerations, the Padres will receive former Cuban star Hector Olivera, who was playing for Atlanta’s Triple-A team. Olivera in turn was designated for a signment by San Diego. Toronto pitcher J.A. Happ struck out 11 over seven innings while dominating the Orioles in a 9-1 victory. Happ improved to 14-3 on the season and Saturday’s start was an MLB-leading 66th quality start of the season for the Blue Jays’ pitching staff. It was also Happ’s 20th win since last Aug. 14, which trailsonly Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta (21) in that span.The Mets retired the No. 31 worn by new Hall of Famer Mike Piazza prior to Saturday’s 7-2lo sto the Colorado Rockies, who have won 12 of 16 since the All-Star break.What’s nextOrioles (58-45) at Blue Jays (59-45), 1:07 p.m. ET:The Blue Jays will try for the sweep while turningto Aaron Sanchez (11-1, 2.72 ERA), who has been dynamite this season. A win by the Orioles, who will have Chris Tillman (14-3, 3.47) on the mound, will move them back into first place by a half-game in the American League East.Astros (55-48) at Tigers (56-48), 1:10 p.m. ET:In what could be an important wildcard series, Houston hopes to get a leg up on the Tigers with 2015 Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel on the mound. Keuchel (6-10, 4.57) has struggled so far this seasonbut did throw eight scorele s innings against the Tigers in April.
